As President, David is responsible for the business development and overall operations of Laurel Hill’s strategic shareholder solutions and corporate governance consulting services for public companies. David routinely advises clients on shareholder strategies related to hostile and friendly acquisitions, proxy contests, and corporate governance issues.
David is an industry veteran with over 17 years’ experience in progressive leadership roles, including operational, business development and management. David has been with the Laurel Hill team for 9 years and brings his extensive experience and success to his new role at Laurel Hill.
During this time, David directly provided consulting and insight on contentious and non-contentious shareholder meetings, solicited and unsolicited tender offers, and corporate governance issues, including the Fording acquisition by Teck Resources, Nexen acquisition by CNOOC, Shoppers acquisition by Loblaw. Previously, David spent over 5 years gaining significant business development and management experience in the retail banking industry.
David is currently a director of a publicly-traded company, a board member of the no-for-profit Canadian Investor Relations Institute, BC Chapter, and recently co-chaired the True Patriot Love Foundation Vancouver event. David graduated from the University of Toronto in 1995 with a major in Economics and subsequently completed the Canadian Securities course in 1997. David is a member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute and the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries..
Prior to joining Laurel Hill, Stephanie was the Director of Investor Relations at public issuers including Canadian Pacific Railway Limited. Stephanie brings in depth investor relations and communications experience in oil and gas, transportation, and non-profit, as well as functional experience in strategic planning, audit, risk and compliance, and product design. She is a long-time member of Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI) and currently serves as a member of the board of the Alberta Chapter. Stephanie graduated from the University of Victoria in Victoria B.C. and and holds the Certified Professional in Investor Relations designation, awarded by Ivey School of Business, Western University in London, Ontario.

Bonita is Vice President of Business Development for Laurel Hill in Eastern Canada and is responsible for the relationship management and growth of all Laurel Hill services. Bonita spent 13 years in financial services holding Director and Vice President roles for various financial communications firms. Her experience in providing solutions for clients has led her to engage with a broad cross-section of publicly traded companies assisting these companies with their IPO’s, M&A transactions and all compliance related documentation including proxy circulars, continuous disclosure documents and prospectus offerings. Bonita has a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Mary’s University with an emphasis on Marketing and Economics.

Bill is Vice President of Business Development for Laurel Hill in Eastern Canada and is responsible for the relationship management and growth of all Laurel Hill services. Bill brings 20 years of experience serving the needs of Canada’s public companies and is a trusted partner to the issuer and legal community.
Prior to joining Laurel Hill, Bill was National Law Firm Consultant at a Global Communications firm and worked with the corporate, securities and M&A teams at many of Canada’s law firms to deliver press release, regulatory filing and other communication solutions on behalf of corporate clients. Prior to this role, Bill held progressive client service, relationship management and business development positions with several leading Transfer Agents in Canada. Over the course of his career, Bill has worked on the front lines of hundreds of shareholder meetings, corporate actions and M&A transactions. He is well versed in industry trends and developments in shareholder activism and corporate governance. Bill is a member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute and the Governance Professionals of Canada. Bill graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and has completed numerous industry courses including the Canadian Securities Course.

Der is responsible for the development and execution of Laurel Hill’s Proxy and Information Agent Services Department. With over 12 years of industry expertise, Der has established strong relationships both with issuers and service providers. With her extensive knowledge of proxy solicitation, corporate governance, shareholder identification and information agent services, Der is able to provide effective program implementation and strategic advice to obtain maximum positive results. She has successfully represented clients in mergers, tender offers, consents, proxy contests and corporate restructurings. Der has completed the Canadian Securities Course and a member of Women in Capital Markets, the Canadian Investor Relations Institute and the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries.

Hazel is responsible for the growth, development and operational management of our shareholder programs division comprising of Asset Recovery and Odd Lot Programs. She leads her team in implementing strategies that reunite shareholders with unclaimed assets due to them and in helping companies comply with escheatment regulations. In addition, she supports her clients in reducing administrative costs and in providing good corporate governance to their shareholders. She has structured and managed global programs for clients such as Sun Life Financial Services, Manulife Financial, Metlife Financial, EnCana Corporation, Bank of Nova Scotia, and Kinross Gold Corporation.
Hazel has over 17 years experience in the financial services industry in progressively senior positions. Prior to joining Laurel Hill she was with Kingsdale Shareholder Services, Georgeson Inc., CIBC Mellon Trust Company, and Montreal Trust Company of Canada in both Vancouver and Toronto. This experience has proven to be invaluable when meeting the objectives of clients, legal counsel and shareholders.
She completed the Canadian Securities Course and the Trust Institute Program, and is a member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI), the Canadian Society of Corporate Secretaries (CSCS), Women in Capital Markets (WCM), and The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).
